Did you know over 30% of cancer deaths are preventable by modified lifestyles, early detection and treatment?
Staggering and scattered statistics show that Africans are more likely to die from cancer than their white peers. The numbers show that 30 of 100 black women diagnosed of cancer have any chance of survival compared to 90 out of 100 white females. The difference is alarming.
Oncologists insist that early detection of cancers make the recovery rate higher as they could be better managed at early stage. The recommend screening for men above 40 and women from 35 years of age.
Below are some of those wrong beliefs about cancer that distract people from seeking medical assistance on time as mentioned by experts.
